About Our CIT Bridge Program
The mission of the CIT Bridge program is to provide 13-15 year olds with a safe and educational introduction to working at camp, while having fun working alongside other teenagers. Through training, meetings and hands on projects with campers, CITs gain a broad set of basic job skills and understand C.A.T.S. Summer Camps from behind the scenes.
In our drama based camps, CITs will work with the camp director and counselors to help campers learn lines, make costumes and have fun. During the production the will serve as stage managers, costume managers and sound technicians.
In other camps, such as cooking, movie making or Wizardry and Literacy, CITs will work as assistant chefs, assistant directors or house elves.
Please go to the registration page to view camp dates and more registration information.
There is a registration fee of $75 per session (payable by mail or online) Cancellations will be charged $15 per session and must be cancelled 15 calendar days prior to the start of the session. No refunds if cancelled less that 15 prior to start of camp session.
The goals of our CIT Bridge program are as follows:
· Provide basic job training and specific job skills to our CITs.
· Provide a fulfilling training and work experience for personal growth and enjoyment.
· Prepare CIT’s for possible future employment at C.A.T.S. Summer Camps.
· Utilize CIT talent and hard work to meet camp’s needs and further the goals of each camp.
· Have fun!
What We Offer
The C.A.T.S. CIT Bridge Program is designed to to encourage youth to learn basic work skills needed in order to become a positive leader within the community and offers participants the opportunity for hands on training and responsibility in a safe and fun environment. CIT's will learn the basic standards of how a camp is run and the importance of having a good work ethic. The CIT’s will work alongside our director’s and experienced dounselors on a day-to-day basis as well as working directly with the campers to help them get the most out of each activity.
Our camps take place in various cities in Ventura County and northern Los Angeles County. We offer a very limited number of CIT Bridge opportunities in the following cities: Camarillo, Channel Islands, Lancaster, Palmdale, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and Ventura. Early registration is suggested to avoid disappointment. Online registrations will be accepted through May 31 and the program may close early if all available positions have been filled.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for 13 to 15 year olds who are ready to work hard, learn new things, and have fun in a
summer day camp environment. CITs must show up on time, follow instructions, and always think safety first. It is our hope that our CITs will one day become counselors with our camps.
